TENN Roadshow – Day 1
Miles Traveled: 375
After weeks of planning and anticipation, the LaunchTN TENN Road Show pulled out of Nashville at noon on Sunday. On the bus were five of the 10 other participating teams eager to compete for the favor of possible investment and strategic partners during the four-day, five-city tour across Tennessee. The goal is to make sure I leave no doubt that Healthcare MarketMaker™ is a smart and sustainable business that offers attractive long-term opportunities to partners.
After a quick stop in Knoxville to pick up a couple other teams, we arrived in Kingsport and crammed in one last night of preparation for my first Road Show presentation the next morning (Monday). Hosted by AccelNow, the Tri-Cities entrepreneurial accelerator, and Eastman Chemical Company at the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, the presentation was well received by those in attendance and established a benchmark for the other stops on the Road Show. That benchmark, however, was quickly tested as we immediately traveled back to Knoxville for a presentation at the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center that night, which generated several promising leads. We also managed to squeeze in an interesting data science workshop at the PYA Analytics in Knoxville.
To use a cliché, it was a “whirlwind” 36 hours to start the Road Show and it’s going to continue at this feverish pace. It’s a good thing my newborn daughter has conditioned me over the past month to function with limited sleep.
On to Chattanooga!
